Mark-Anthony Polizzi

The very interesting sculpture/installation work of Mark-Anthony Polizzi is going nicely with my Sunday evening. His description of his work is far better than you'll get out of me.

Mark-Anthony Polizzi:
My work uses a process of reconstruction and unification to examine the domesticated chaos of the post consumer world. This area where the relatively ordered and relatively disordered coexist and interact might seem like a contradiction, considering the more austere and violent sense of chaos. However it is in this gray area in which I construct my work. These installations draw on the history and narrative properties of found objects, to bring out the human connection often lost in the glimmer and glitz of an ever growing material culture.

Strawberries Need Rain

I happened across the work of Swiss born artist Carol Bove today. Her body of work consists of collage, sculpture, drawing, installations and more that blurs the lines of categorization. Via Dennis Kimmerich Gallery.

I am really enjoying the work of Israeli artist Yochai Matos. Whether it's a light installation, street art or other mixed media pieces, his work is provocative, intelligent and beautiful.

Saying it was disproportionate.

The sculptural work of Ian Pedigo is another body of creations that utilizes found objects. In his work one can see an exploration of earth and plastics, natural vs. manmade, and even the transitioning between these two worlds. His sculptures are made of found materials, whose components not only create a dialogue within themselves, but also with each other and the space in which they inhabit.

Francisco Infante-Arana & Nonna Gorunova

The work of Russian Artist/Photographers, Francisco Infante-Arana and Nonna Gorunova is utterly amazing. Most of their work uses mirrors and the environment, and boy do they choose beautiful places, but I was completely captured by these above photos. It looks as though it is Aluminum foil but I can't be too sure.

Phillip Low

Phillip Low has added a couple new sculptures to the gallery of Maryam Nassir Zadeh. Again, I am more drawn to the composition and structure of these images than I am to the work itself. See more from a previous post, here.
